Well I am officially in my second trimester and couldn't be happier! I am so thankful that the sickness is beginning to subside and I'm hoping the energy will come back as everyone has promised. Of course with a full time job and full time graduate work my energy level has never been up real high. Our dr appointment went well last week. Everything is right along schedule and everyone is growing properly. We didn't have another sonogram, but the baby's heartbeat is around 150 bpm. Here's what babycenter says is happening this week with our little one:
This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.
It refers to the baby as a he...hmmm....could that be true??? We'll find out March 2nd.
For those concerned about the cows...everyone made it home safely. One cow has quite a bit of damage to her hooves, but is still getting around well enough to get food and water. So Aaron is hopeful she will be ok in a few weeks. We will be seeing baby cows pretty soon...let the herd begin! :)
